1. Educational computer software and games is an excellent tool to use with your children to promote learning at home. This software helps keep your child engaged and productive. It also provides an information specific atmosphere as opposed to the web where one is exposed to a variety of information. Summer can be rough on the care taker who never seems to have the proper amount of time to plan or prepare for the next activity! Suggesting that your child spend a little quiet time playing an educational game is a bit more productive than video games or television.

2. Encourage your child to keep in contact with friends through educational computer gaming that is multi-player. Mixing social activity is a huge motivator for children. Not to mention that children inadvertently teach and learn from one another when interacting.

3. Plan trips to local museums, parks etc. that have historical significance. Research a bit yourself before accompanying your child on these outings and talk casually about the significance of the place while there. Hint: Let your child be in charge of the map, pamphlet which they will have to read and follow to make suggestions!

4. Incorporate summer reading into a book/movie comparison. Help your child choose books that have also been made into a movie. After completing the book, either with or without your help, have a movie night with the film version of your story. Then either with a discussion or a report have your child compare the book to the movie. You would be surprised how often the book is preferred!

5. Summer is a great time to promote the use of a musical instrument. Practicing at home is key with instrument instruction. During their break from school a child may find it easier to incorporate the time needed to practice into their schedule. Gaining that momentum in the summer should make the practices during the school year a bit easier!

Teaches the way your child loves to play! With the Leapster learning advantage, kids can play action-packed games that teach essential skills for preschool through 4th grade. Multiple learning levels, tailored tutorials and a wide variety of learning games that take advantage of both the multi-directional control pad and the easy to use stylus ensure that children are learning essential skills while playing the video games that they love. With Leapster, the name of the game is learning!Leapster Is Growing Fast

Since 1985, Leapster, LeapPad and LeapFrog has taken to heart the commitment of providing quality and fun educational toys for children. With a team of experts in child psychology, teaching and technology, LeapFrog has established itself as one of the most sought after and popular educational toy makers all over the world. In fact, in 2000 alone, during the rise of the demand for children’s educational toys, LeapFrog’s sales soared by a whopping 120%. Imagine how many products it is selling now!

LeapFrog has recognized this growing need and come up with a wide array of toys, each catering to a particular skill set and age group. There is a LeapFrog toy for every infant, toddler and elementary school child out there. In addition, LeapFrog does not only address the educational needs of kids in the English speaking world. It has toys that also come in Spanish and other major foreign languages. Kids Can Learn

Children are capable of learning best when they don’t think they’re learning at all. That is, the perfect chance to teach them is when they are playing. It is this concept that has propelled educational toys’s popularity (Like Leapster) to the highest point. Despite the fact that they can be quite expensive, parents are paying no attention to the price, recognizing only the benefits their children will gain playing with the educational toy’s, and seeing that it far outweigh’s the price tag.

There are many kinds of educational toys, but the electronic ones are probably the most sought after. Since we live in a modern advancing technologically world, getting kids interested in electronics is inevitable.

Some toys are universal and are appropriate for all ages. These can make excellent gifts for children and will not have to worry about the levels of skill or knowledge required. The Leapster gaming system masters this concept. By purchasing educational games of differing levels, the Leapster gaming system has a wide range of appeal across a large span of ages. . . Any list of potential gifts for children should include an item similar to the Leapster educational handheld gaming system.

Children, especially younger ones, are in need of good education. Educational toys can aid this eduction. Of course these toys should also be fun and unique. Most educational toys are indifferent from each other, but some of these still stand out and are still unique in their own ways.

Leapster games are produced by Leapfrog, a company committed to producing only educational products for children.

If you believe what the old timers have to say, video games and television sets are ruining the American family. In particular, those who grew up in a less technological time will tell you that today’s children are negatively impacted because they play video games instead of exercising. While it is probably true that the truth lies somewhere in the middle of extreme theories, it looks like there is finally something definitely productive coming out of the video game buzz. The children of this generation now have grown to not only love video game play, but to be interested in video game design. Programs are now arising in the field of Animation and Game Design that are geared towards children who are high school aged or even younger.

With new game systems coming out every couple of years, opportunities in this exciting field are growing by leaps and bounds. When companies like Microsoft and Sony are able to sell their game consoles for more than five hundred dollars each, it should be very apparent that there is some potential in this field. Children and teenagers, not content with just playing the games, have become very interested in creating the games. For those older individuals who want kids to be outside playing, this seems like at least some sort of compromise.

Some question how kids are getting the knowledge to get a good start in the animation and game design field. There are the very popular aforementioned programs that have classes designed specifically for them. One very popular program is in the field of robotics. It seems that robotics is the next in a long line of video game technology. Games have evolved at such a rate where it has become very apparent that gamers will no longer be satisfied with only high-quality digital games. They want to get involved through robotics. Nintendo took the first step this holiday season when they released the Nintendo Wi, a game console that enables the players to use their own motions to dictate the movements of the characters on the screen.

Robotics classes for young people are not designed to be taught like a normal class. Because of this, kids learn in an environment that will remind them nothing of a normal school classroom. Keeping with that theme, children are not relegated to a harsh and limited curriculum for their classes. Instead, these programs, taught at many places around the United States, are offering a chance to learn in a very relaxed atmosphere. Children are taught the art of animation and game design by adult mentors who have the time, desire, and expertise to impact knowledge into young people that will undoubtedly get them started on the right path.

Students in these programs learn all about animation and robotics. They learn how to think creatively in order to bring these objects to life. At these programs, creativity and the lively human imagination are valued like premium commodities. When students get further involved in the extensive learning programs, they will even be able to create their own robotic machines in an attempt to create game designs.

Today’s children and teenagers are no longer interested in just playing video games. They want to get involved in the action. Animation and game design programs geared specifically for children have allowed them to put that long-standing creativity to use and get to work on something special. While they might not be out playing in the back yard like their grandfather would prefer, they are putting that passion for video games to a good use. As these programs continue to be designed with young folks in mind, today’s youth will continue to take advantage of the great opportunities to learn and grow.

Kids of different ages learn by different methods. For example, a toddler that has just turned two might enjoy finger painting, while an 8 year old girl will enjoy playing with her dolls. While various age groups learn by using different material, one thing is true for all age groups: Kids learn best with toys. The argument on how best to teach kids with toys remains an ongoing debate. Some say that you should just purchase loads of toys for your child and let them play as they please. Others say you should only purchase toys that improve your child’s skills that are necessary for development and make sure they play in a supervised environment. At a young age, children do not like learning by sitting in a classroom and listening to a lecture. They want to be able to build things, make their own worlds, and imagine things that can never come true. Thus is the power of toys. If you buy them a set of LEGOS or building blocks, they will be able to construct their own world and learn a few things along the way. Building things with blocks and LEGOS not only teach your child colors and balance, they also teach him/her spatial reasoning. Teaching kids with toys can also include video games. No, I’m not talking about Pokemon games or the like, I’m talking about games that include educational opportunities for your child. Such a game may include putting puzzles together, adding groups of things, or recognizing patterns. These games are great because you know they are safe for your children, and you know that your children are getting the most out of them. Excellent toys that can teach your kids are dolls. Popular dolls such as Barbie and Bratz are a great opportunity for your young girl to make believe their own world. With thousands of accessories that come with the dolls, it lets your child’s creative juices flow. Dolls are also great because they offer your child the opportunity to learn social skills by playing and sharing their dolls with other young girls. Toys that can teach your baby include simple ones that are large (harder to choke on), colorful and have different textures. Such toys include wooden blocks and inflatable balls. The toys will aide your baby in learning the different between colors, the concept of balance, and cause and effect. For example, if your baby takes one block and hits it against another, they will learn that the cause of hitting the blocks creates the effect of making a sound. Don’t rely on the toys only to teach your kid. You need to be there as a parent and assist your child in their adventures. If you buy them a set of blocks, don’t just lock them in a room and expect them to learn anything. A good thing to do is to set aside a “play time” at a certain time every day. During this play time, you and your child will sit down and play with whatever toys you have purchased for them. In addition to your child learning new things, it is also a great time to bond with your child.
