As a teacher, I know the importance of games for kids. I also know how hard it is to come up with games that kids like to do. However, it can be easier than you think, especially when it comes to writing games. Writing is everywhere and you can do it wherever you go.

Sand and Glitter Games
I don’t know what it is about glitter but it makes sand come to life. Kids of all ages love glitter. In fact, I have a cookie sheet with just a little bit of sand and glitter in it and adults find themselves drawn to it. People can’t help but to doodle in the sand. Make this simple and easy craft and your kids will write all the time. Your only chore will be pulling them away.

You will need:
• 9×12x1/4 cookie sheet
• 1 cup sand
• 1 tablespoon glitter (any color or multi-color)

Mix the sand, glitter in the cookie sheet, and let the kids have at it. Kids can draw their name, pictures, and all kinds of stuff in the sand. Let their imagination run wild!

Freezer Bag and Paint Games
This is ooey gooey fun. Something about squishy paint makes kids go wild. The paint just oozes all over the bag to create some fun filled pictures. Creative kids learn how to manipulate the paint to make their pictures last longer.

You will need:
• Heavy duty freezer bag

Age- Do not expose children to online games very early in their life. 7-8 years can be deemed to be the correct age though there are kids who are used to computers earlier than that. Moreover, you need to monitor what types of kids’ games they are using. They should not be violent at all as it leaves a negative impression in their mind. The intensity of the games should increase with age. At the starting level, simple puzzle games or word building games are enough. Interest- Never pressurizes a kid to choose and play games of your choice. First learn where the interest of the child lies. Some children may prefer jigsaw puzzles whereas some maybe fond of word games. Remember that all the games play a positive role in making the child learn some important skills in life. If word games enable the child to increase vocabulary, strategy games at a later stage will enable them to think with clarity and enhance their logical reasoning. Safety- The online games played by the child should ensure their safety. What kind of safety? Safety of content. Some sites have pop ups or advertisements sprouting at all times and some of these ads and popup are indecent in nature. The child should not be exposed to things that will harm their mind in any way. Skills- board games should help the child in developing social skills. For this, make sure the site supports online communication system that will help to connect with other children. Increase in friends circle will make the kid more of a social person in the long run.
